Our primary goal is to share the love of Jesus with students in Jacksonville through sports and activities, fostering relationships, unity, and enjoyment. We are committed to creating a secure environment where students can have fun, connect with peers, and grow in the body of Christ. Our long-term vision involves collaboration with local entities to strengthen community bonds. Safety, joy, unity, and building relationships are our core values, ensuring the well-being and personal/spiritual growth of all participants.

Founder & President

Adam Baraso

In 2021, Adam established The Pick Up: Jax to foster community for the youth. As President, he directs the organization's strategy, operations, and mission fulfillment, guiding its vision and goals.

Vice President

Nyjah Ma'at

As Vice President, Nyjah leads the nonprofit, overseeing programs, fundraising, event representation, and collaboration with leaders to ensure effective operations and mission advancement.

Chief Financial Officer & Coach P

Matthew Pena

Matthew, as CFO of The Pick Up, focuses on budget management, financial reporting, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Additionally, he takes the lead as our marketing figure in promotional videos.

Media Director

David Rogers

As Media Director, David crafts, films, and edits promotional videos. He oversees communications, public relations, and branding to advance the nonprofit’s mission, engage supporters, and raise awareness.

Operational & Social Media Communications Manager

Teanni Amos

Tenna oversees day-to-day operations on social platforms, managing content creation, scheduling, and audience engagement. She ensures effective communication of the organization’s message.

Activities Lead

Ethan Torruella

Ethan coordinates and oversees programs and events, planning and executing activities aligned with the organization’s mission to meet objectives and engage the community.
